Part two of my Magpie counting project. Happy to be posting again. Some illustrations just flow – this watercolor of many layers took a bit longer to work through.

I really enjoy your work, especially the birds. I have a weakness for bird motifs. Your work reminds me a bit of my sister’s, in terms of the graphic elements: https://lindahamptonsmith.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/peace-dove-1.jpg (and of course I am highly biased about my sister’s work but consider that a high compliment!).
Birds seem to be entering into my life much more frequently lately– in life and in art. Amateur birding foray recounted here: http://fpnaturalist.com/2015/03/31/bird-by-bird/
Please keep posting your work!

Hi Katherine, Thanks so much for your kind words and for sharing your blog and your sister’s blog with me – I will check them out. Sorry for the delay I have been immersed in a few projects. I love the natural world but birds always seem to find me too. All the best,
Dawn
